 Horror

 

1. Horror is an intense feeling of fear, shock, or disgust. Although the description of horror does not seem so appealing, it is one of the most popular movies audiences come to see. Whether it is to prove one's emotional strength, enjoy the thrill, or feel relieved with a good ending, people crave a good horror movie. Horror is also very cheap to make, and it is inexpensive making it a lot easier to create films and more viral hits.  horror an intense feeling of fear, shock, or disgust. 2. Horror uses unique and unusual angles to create confusion and unsettling feel with the viewer. The lighting tends to be dark, underexposed with lots of shadows, creating suspense and a mysterious sense of action. 

 

3. In horror, for production techniques is to Create well-developed characters. Creepy sound designs and building suspense throughout the film. All of these techniques create well-made horror films and are very common to have. Using harsh lighting, underexposure, and prominent shadows the scene is much spookier. 

4. A common way of advertisement for horror is to create small trailers and posters with a glimpse of the  

 

5. “Scream” is an example of a horror film, it is about a hidden masked monster that goes around mysteriously and randomly showing up to people's houses ready to commit crimes. Scream uses dark color palettes and creates suspense. 

 

6. “It” Is also an example of another horror film, it is a clown, which is the monster that has terrifying looking facial expressions and does bad things around the town. He creates suspense when in the sewer waiting for a little kid to go down it 

 

7. Jaws, The conjuring, Exorcist, Frankenstein, Chucky, Dracula 

Sound Blog

 This sound project is about creating different combinations of sounds and foleys to make it seem like a short story being visualized without having dialogue.

I approached this assignment by planning out a scene and writing it out, creating all the possible noises i need to complete the scene. Then I put together audios from online to merge into the sound clip to make it seem more realistic. I used heels and books slamming to create the effect of someone walking through a party while doors are being slammed.  After that I added more layers to the sound clip and merged everything together.

Putting the audios together and using editing techniques, help build a sense of atmosphere as well as a sequence of events happening. It all ended up coming to a good and well made sound clip and it can be imagined.

Shots and Angles

 Hello! It's Paula, this is a blog post about the preliminary projects, on camera shots and angles. I was asked to compose a short story within 15 shots using different angles. The story is about a bully and a sad student, the bully then was approaching the sad student and passed a negative note, trying to get a reaction or form of entertainment from the sad student. Later, the student goes up to the bully and gains the confidence to talk back to the bully and confront them about it. It shows a form of building a character and building the confidence to talk back. It is important to speak up and can save lives from bullies. The student lives happily and stress free from the bully. The point of the film was to increase awareness to stand up for yourself and make sure to stand your ground. Not to let anybody else break you down, this was done and composed by different shots and angles to create that sense of lesson. I would later on change the higher definition of the photos and get a more clear angle in the future.
