Representation Analysis
The show Young Sheldon is a usual and typical family show. To elaborate, the star, Young Sheldon is a very smart young boy with a not so smart brother and sister. Sheldons intelligence often scared other kids and even adults, and it gives off the impression that he is weird. They have him wear adult and formal clothing like khaki and bow ties formally worn to give him an older and smarter impression. Georgie, his older brother is a typical high school lover boy who is going through his phase of girls and bad grades. He is not that intelligent or bright when it comes to schoolwork, he is a masculine boy who enjoys football and video games. Therefore, they usually come to many disagreements and are both annoyed of each other as kids usually are.
Their parents, George and Mary are always arguing and causing conflict in the show. Mary is a very nicely represented lady and gives feminine energy. She wears light colors and looks presentable at all times. George on the other hand is very messy and laid back when it comes to house problems. He is the stereotypical white texan dad and acts like it as well. They are both a very unexpected couple and often fight over the protection of Sheldon, the very sensible child.
This show gives the audience a different sense of view points and media gives us the interpretation of how we consume the information being given to us in the show. For example, the audience is given all the context clues and can piece together the sarcasm that usually happens by Georgie talking to Sheldon, as Sheldon takes it literally all the time and gets confused.
